MCP-601 Control Command Codes 2.0

POSITION:COMOUT

POSITION:COMPUTEROUT

Determines where the incoming graphic data allowed by POSITION

COMIN/COMPUTERIN will be placed in the out going video.

SYNTAX POSITION:COMOUT <left x>,<top y>,<right x>,<bottom y>

ARGUMENTS 0 – 719 for x The values are in pixels.

0 – 479 for y while in NTSC. The values are in lines.

0 – 571 for y while in PAL. The values are in lines.

The upper limit for y is determined by the detection of NTSC or PAL

from the incoming video. The MCP601 will limit the coordinates to

fit with in the limits of the detected video.

By using both the POSITION:COMOUT/COMPUTEROUT and

POSITION:COMIN/COMPUTERIN commands, scaling (“video push”) of the

graphic image can be preformed. The scaling ratio is defined as

follows:

horizontal: (COMOUT <right x> - COMOUT <left x>)

vertical: (COMOUT <bottom y> - COMOUT <top y>)

------------------------------------

{ COMIN <bottom y> - COMIN <left y> )

The scaling ratio cannot be less then 0.5 or no greater then 2 to 1

shrink is permitted.
