MAGNIMAGNI MCP-601 Control Command Codes
List of Commands and Control Codes
This section is provided for the software programmers who want to directly control
the operation of the MCP-601 via RS232 or USB interfaces using commands and
queries. Refer to appropriate host documents for actual requirements to access the
USB interface. The MCP-601 uses the Human Interface Devices (HID) device class.
You transmit commands to the MCP-601 using the American Standard Code for
Information Interchange (ASCII) character encoding.
This manual uses the following symbol to describe commands and queries.
<> defined element
::= is defined as
| exclusive OR
{} group; one element is required
[] optional; can be omitted
... previous element(s) may be repeated
() comment
EOM This is the message terminator, a carriage return
Command and Query Format
The command set consists of commands that set various settings and cause various
actions to take place along with query commands that will return current settings and
status. Many of the “set” commands also have query commands. Query’s are defined
by using a? Rather then arguments. Commands are arranged in a hierarchical tree
structure. Commands consist of a header, mnemonic and arguments. The header is a
branch from the base of the tree and a subsequent mnemonic is a branch from the
branch. The use of a leading colon before a header will always return you the base of
the tree. The use of a leading colon at the start of the command line is optional.
Commands take the form of:
[:]<Header>[<:>< Mnemonic><Argument>[[<Comma><Argument>]...]<EOM>
